About Cyrus Watches

Without compromising on quality, Cyrus, a luxury watch brand founded in 2010 has managed to create a range of remarkable timepieces that introduce a completely unique way to read the time. Thanks to its autonomy and know how Cyrus is one of the very few watchmakers to express maximum freedom in the design of each of its timepieces. From planning to prototyping to testing its watches, producing its own calibres and assembling the intricate parts of every mechanical heart, Cyrus is independent in every way. The Cyrus Watches Group also includes Chronode whose internal manufacturing facilities is located in Le Locle, Switzerland. Chronode also collaborates with other watch brands however the movements made for Cyrus remain entirely exclusive.

Founded by Julien and Laurent Lecamp, Cyrus developed its first two collections in 2011. The Kuros watch and the Klepcys watch. It was always a vision of Cyrus’ to position itself within the watchmaking industry as an independent creator of exceptionally beautiful wristwatches. A strong focus was applied to creating its identity and associating itself with excellence in quality and reliability. The brand takes its name after King Cyrus the Great. The famous Persian King lived and reigned during the 6th Century and founded the Persian Empire, conquering most of Western and Central Asia.

There are a few interesting facts to note about watch brand, Cyrus. The first timepiece the company ever created had two functional working crowns. The wearer could pull the crown out to read the watch’s very own limited serial number. The first model is no longer in production but Cyrus continued with this innovative signature feature, creating every Cyrus watch to follow with two crowns. With just two exceptions to the rule, the Klepcys Alarm and the Klepcys Solo Tempo watch, the two crowns incorporated into the design of every other Cyrus watch are functional.

The Cyrus logo has plenty of significance when it comes to representing the brand as a whole and all it stands for. Reflecting the energy and inspiration behind the brand, the roundness of the logo reflects the perfectly rounded case of each watch. The three circular sectors are in perpetual motion, holding a central sphere at the heart of the motif. Preceding the name of many Cyrus watches is the name Klepcys which derives from the Latin word “Clepsydra. The ancient device was used for measuring the time by the regulated flow of water or mercury through a small opening known as an hourglass. The innovation behind the design of every Cyrus watch since 2010 is the work of Jean-François Mojon who also founded and co-owns the independent manufacturer, Chronode, which produces every calibre for Cyrus. In addition to the exclusive movements it creates for Cyrus, it also produces calibres for Harry Winston, Urban Jürgensen, MB&F and HYT amongst others.
